I bring the lived experience of a teacher and principal,
the systems perspective of a district leader,
and the lens of a Harvard-trained strategist —
but the heart of a Medford parent who knows the incredible potential in our students.
Our School Committee members work incredibly hard — but we have opportunities to focus more consistently on student outcomes and coherence across our systems.
Their growth. Their access. Their future.
Data helps us understand what’s working, where to focus next, and how to make sure every student has what they need to thrive.
Sometimes the data shows us what needs attention. Other times, it shows us what’s working.
Progress is worth watching—because it shows what’s possible.
Fewer students are missing large portions of school, and that means more learners are showing up, connecting, and building momentum.
When fewer students enroll in advanced coursework, it limits how we nurture curiosity, confidence, and readiness for what comes next.
The data tell us something important about where we’re headed—and who we need to support along the way.
Our overall student performance has stayed steady — but for many high-needs learners, the gaps are growing.
Strong school systems set learning goals — and track how close we are to reaching them. When we regularly review progress, we can celebrate growth, identify what’s working, and focus our support where it matters most.
David and I wrapped up our platform chats with a conversation on how the School Committee can provide oversight in special education.
It’s about transparency, accountability, and ensuring families get the support they deserve—not micromanaging, but asking the right questions and making sure progress is real.

Coffee Chat #5 with Annie — all about why family–school partnerships matter.
Families know kids best. Educators bring deep expertise. Together? That’s when kids thrive. It’s not optional — it’s a systemic need.
Coffee Chat #4 is here—and I’m joined once again by Nathan, whose strong edits continue!
Coffee Chat #3 is here!
This time my second grader, Caroline (7), joined me to talk about why a strategic plan matters—supplemented with a little extra context and kid-friendly definitions.
It’s quick, a little silly, and a good reminder that clarity helps everyone work together to get the best for our kids.
☕ Coffee Chat #2 is live!
This week, I’m joined by Annie as we talk about the first pillar of my platform: establishing a clear vision for teaching, learning, and accountability.
The very first Coffee Chat with the Kingsleys is here!
This intro runs a little longer, but my interview partner + editor Nathan kept it lively with graphics and visuals.
Big thanks to him for making it fun to watch.
Grab your coffee and check out Episode 1—shorter chats to come!
