The last element of my platform is improving governance, particularly in special education. But before that can make sense, we need to pause and talk about what special education is.

Too often, misconceptions or confusion surround this complicated, legal process—especially because it intersects with one of the most emotional parts of our lives: caring for our children.

For this first part of the conversation, my husband David joined me to share an overview of special education—what it is, what it isn’t, and why understanding it matters. We will follow up with a Part 2 that connects it to my campaign more specifically.
