This week Annie joined me for the conversation—because who better to talk about the importance of family–school partnerships than a student herself?

Families know their children best, and educators bring deep professional expertise. When those two come together in real partnership, kids thrive. Too often, though, families are treated like barriers instead of partners. That has to change.

As a School Committee member, I will prioritize structures and practices that make families true partners in our schools—not just guests, and never obstacles.
